Criminal Appeal (Amendment) Bill

I welcome that the number of young people in custody is at an historic low, with the number of under-18s in custody having fallen by 77 per cent in the past decade. I understand that the Ministry of Justice do not collate information on whether a prosecution or conviction for any crime was also one of joint enterprise. The MoJ are considering whether such data could be collected as part of the Common Platform programme.

I am aware that Ministers have said they are happy to engage with Barry Sheerman MP on his Criminal Appeal (Amendment) Bill.
